1st day of the workshop - January 2019

For whom?

This workshop is for all men amateur singer, sight-reading or not, who whish to deepen their practice of choral singing, through various works. Two conditions:

having studied the scores before the workshop (with the help of piano work files available for each participant), in order to focus on musicality, interpretation, etc... during the sessions,
commitment to attending all sessions.

Concert in March 2012, church of Mulsanne (Sarthe, France), within of concert of the Choir of the University of Maine and of the Choir "Mille Accords".

(*) The song entitled "Hymn to the Red October", by American composer Basil Poledouris, with lyrics in Russian, was on our program in 2019 before covid. It still has its place today in the new international context, since it is an extract from the film "The Hunt for Red October" which tells the story of the defection to the United States of a Soviet submarine captain, who refuses to carry out its devastating, nuclear mission against the United States during the late Cold War era.

Graduate in music education, sight-reading, chamber music, analysis, singing (with honors), and saxophone (gold medal) at the National Music School (ENM) of Le Mans (France), Evelyne Béché is a professor of music.

This price includes:
- all three sessions (i.e. 12:45 of singing) and the concert on the last day; each session will begin with 45 minutes of warm-up and vocal technique (this important work of relax and warm-up is not optional),
- the concert at the end of the workshop within a concert of the Choir of the University of Le Mans,
- downloadable scores here, with piano work files, voice by voice, in order to allow the sight-reading upstream the workshop,
- a 45 minutes pause-friendly in the afternoon around a snack.

attention

To these rates are added 7 €, for those who do not already have an original score of "Hymn to Red October" by Poledouris (from the movie "The Hunt for Red October") and of "Ubi Caritas" by Gjeilo (contemporary composers).

Registration

Registration is done through the registration form which can be downloaded here soon (pdf format - Word format) to mail it along with your payment by check payable to "Choeur de l'Université du Mans" (facilities payment on request).

The registration is effective upon receipt of this form, a check for 1/3 of the total amount i.e. 22 euros (collected as a deposit) and the agreement of the choirmaster. The balance will be due October 10th (except facilities payment).
